The following 3D-printed sockets and housings have been very useful for me while prototyping, thus I want to share the designs with you. Of course they are not meant to serve as a complete and proper case for ARC but I wasn’t in the mood yet to design one. The provided STEP and STL files should work fine for the most common Slicer programs of 3D printers. Optimal printing results will maybe require some tuning.
Socket for the STM32F429I Discovery Board
Unfortunately the STM32F429I Discovery Board doesn’t provide through holes for screws, so the mounting can be a bit challenging. This socket provides an accurately fitting of the board and offers 4 mounting holes on the inside and 4 mounting holes on the outside. The two upper openings allow access to the USB-ports, the four lower openings allow plugging in some of the other sockets.

Socket for the Sparkfun Encoder
This is a socket for the (no longer available) Sparkfun Encoder breakout board. It provides an accurately fitting for the breakout board with the possibility to fasten a screw through one of the mounting holes. Inner and outer mounting holes provide fixing this socket to the underground. It can be plugged to the Discovery Board socket.

Socket for the Seeed-Studio Grove Encoder
This is a socket for the Seeed-Studio Grove Encoder and the Seeed-Studio Circular LED Ring. The socket accounts for the fact that the encoder shall be mounted lower than the LED ring due to its height. Inner and outer mounting holes provide fixing this socket to the underground. It can be plugged to the Discovery Board socket.
